With the situation surrounding Coronavirus/Covid-19 we realise circumstances are worrying.
Many of you are frightened and unsure whether you should stay away from work and whether a GP fit note is an appropriate option.
If you have symptoms of Coronavirus and need to self-isolate a GP fit note is not appropriate for your circumstances.
If you require proof to send to your employer an isolation note is what you need, you can get one of these using the following link. You can also use this service on behalf of someone else: www.nhs.uk/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-advice/
Please access the link and complete the required fields. You will need to enter an email address where the isolation note will be sent to. This can either be yours to print off or your employers.
Please do not ask your GP for a fit note. Your employer should be supporting you and trying to make reasonable adjustments for you to remain in the workplace where possible, this could include home working.
We know the government has issued guidance that strongly advises people who are at risk to take stricter social distancing measures but it is your employer's responsibility to be especially careful and take extra steps for anyone in their workforce who may fall into this group.
